Life Together

Several years ago a lady who has been an integral part of my life in virtually every way possible suggested I do Beth Moore's study Breaking Free.  She encouraged me to do it with someone or in a group and not by myself though.  Now, probably a good 5-6 years later I am finally doing it with two of my dearest friends in Denver.

My roommie Liz!
(Pay not attention to the men photo bombing.)

Introducing Miccah!

Miccah and I met last year and quickly became ski buddies.  She is sure to bring loads of laughs to any day on the mountain!  But those stories will be saved for later and are best done with a full-fledge camera crew to capture a legitiment reenactment!

She sacrificially came to my hospital room numerous times after work back in February 2012 and stayed the night before returning to work the next day.  What a faithful, giving woman whom I am thrilled to be growing in Christ alongside!

Now get this, Liz and I didn't even know each other before I moved back to Denver in August!  Three weeks later we were roommates!  God is SO COOL!  I am unbelievably thankful to have found such an incredible, serving, and loving sister-in-Christ to live and walk in community with.  Not to mention, we're the same size so our clothing choices are seemingly endless!

Thursday evenings the three of us come together to share a meal, chat, sit back to watch the teaching session for the week, more discussion/chatting (I mean, we ARE women!), and end with prayer...okay maybe a bit more chatting after that too!  One week we talked the night away and poor Miccah was exhausted so Liz and I convinced her to stay.  Can you say blast from the past SLUMBER PARTY!?  We had possibly too much fun dressing Miccah up for the next day.  The fact that she's far more petite than either of us was a challenge we readily conquered!

We are just in our fourth week of the study (admittedly we began in November) but I can definitely say it is powerful!  God's timing is perfect, you know?  The study guide has been sitting on my bookshelf for literally years, moving from state to state with me, as I would find other studies to do with friends or by myself.   - For those who have not done a Beth Moore study, it's a commitment!  We're talking 40-60 minutes 5 days a week and for us ultra busy Americans we all too often fool ourselves into thinking we don't have enough time for that.  God forgive us for our misplaced priorities.  Okay mini soapbox done.

Ambiance and something to sip on are always necessary ; )

My absolute favorite thing in friendships are when we can experience a transformed life together.  Pray together, challenge one another, learn lessons from one another, speak into each other's lives, worship together, bring up things we are learning to each other...

...and of course, wear goofy headwear together!

Relationship depth.  Life together.  Community.
